HALL OF FAME

The Russell County Schools Education Foundation Hall of Fame honors outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the educational community of Russell County. This prestigious recognition celebrates educators, alumni, and former athletes whose dedication and achievements have had a lasting impact on the lives of students and the broader community. Inductees exemplify a commitment to excellence, leadership, and service, reflecting the values that drive our educational mission. Through this Hall of Fame, we aim to inspire current and future generations to pursue their highest potential and continue the legacy of educational excellence in Russell County.

2025 Hall of Fame Inductees

  • The Russell County Schools Education Foundation seeks to recognize and honor the accomplishments of a former student who brings pride and inspiration to the Russell County School District and the community.

    • The nominee must have graduated from a High School in Russell
      County School District at least 20 years prior to nomination

    • Contribution and involvement in the Russell County School District after graduation

    • Significant contributions to the community at large through volunteering or charitable contributions

  • The Russell County Schools Education Foundation seeks to recognize an individual who has achieved superior performance and/or made significant contributions to Russell County School's athletic program during their time in Russell County School District. Potential inductees include graduates who have distinguished themselves in their athletic endeavors while students in Russell County, as well as individuals who have given outstanding service to the Russell County athletic program, including athletic directors, coaches, trainers, managers, and others whom the committee may approve.

    • An athlete must be an alumnus for a minimum of fifteen (15) years prior to being considered for induction.

    • Prospective candidates will be evaluated on several criteria including: Demonstrated excellence in a particular sport (school record-holder, team MVP, all-district, etc.), the candidate's performance and achievements relative to the level of competition and other Russell County athletes that participated in the sport during the candidate's time at the school and from prior eras. Additional consideration shall also be given to candidates who participated in multiple sports during their career, even if their level of success varied in those sports.

  • The Russell County Schools Education Foundation seeks to honor and recognize an outstanding and memorable retired educator who significantly impacted and made a difference in the lives of their students and whose professional capability and integrity inspired the admiration and respect of not only students, but fellow staff and the community. Nominees must have maintained exemplary standards of behavior and ethics, exhibited leadership, demonstrated competency in their subject matter, worked well with colleagues and administrators, and encouraged and motivated students, thereby leaving a lasting influence on the Russell County School System.

    • A minimum of 10 years of service in the Russell County School System as a classroom teacher, administrator, counselor, or media specialist

    • Proof of quality teaching

    • Evidence of impact or significant contributions to student success

    • Involvement outside the classroom, such as sponsoring extracurricular activities

    • Posthumous nominations are accepted
